Like the McDonald’s and ASOS approaches, or a mix of both.

That’s interesting about Big Data – I hadn’t expected that to be one of the most popular choices – but it in the top 3. If you look it more broadly as using customer insight from different sources to improve the customer experience and convert to more relevant products I’m all for it.
I’d have to say I have memories of the hype about data warehousing in the early 1990s which wasn’t delivered on in many companies.
Great to hear you think that smaller businesses can benefit from “Big Data”, but I’d label that as making use of Analytics Small data. Anyway, we’re called Smart Insights since we’re passionate about the power of Insight, so it’s good to see the Data choice (and CRO) is well up there in the survey.
